Highland Ranch Fifteen minutes away in Philo. Highland Ranch offers a luxurious ranch experience in a very beautiful and relaxing setting. Prices include meals and activities such as horseback riding, canoeing, swimming, fishing and clay pigeon shooting. Approx. $295 per adult per day; $200 per child. 2 night stay minimum. There are six rooms here, and we have held all of them under the name Simmons until August 5th for wedding attendees. Van Zandt’s has several rustic cabins with 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms and one more rustic tenthouse. It is tucked in a dense and shady redwood grove next to the river front, and offers swimming, volleyball and hanging out. We have reserved the entire site, under the name Simmons. Dogs are allowed. This rustic resort has several one to four bedroom cabins. Think summer camp. Think fairy rings. Families and small groups can call to reserve one of the smaller cabins. Individuals and couples can opt to share the four bedroom cabin (one with sixteen beds) with other wedding attendees. We have reserved all the cabins here, so you will be in good company. There are hiking trails and a hot tub. If you want the dream catchers shown on the website, you will have to bring them yourself. Sadly, no dogs. The rate for one to four bedroom cabins is $85 to $145 per night for two adults. Children under 13 are free. Additional adults are $15 each. It has a private entrance, porch and parking. There is a small living room and a kitchen. Shower only. No t.v. and no phone. No smoking. This 650 sq. ft. cabin is in a quiet and bucolic location. It has a full kitchen, bathroom and queen size bed plus an addition sleeping loft. A private porch overlooks a pond and has a forest view. It offers standard campsites for those who like the idea of putting on a tux in a tent. It also has four very very rustic cabins with a bunk bed that has a double on the bottom and a single on top. Further afield and along the coast: Vichy Springs Resort This is an old mineral springs spa in Ukiah, established in the mid nineteenth century and purportedly frequented by the likes of Mark Twain, Jack London and Presidents Roosevelt, Harrison and Grant. Ukiah is the largest town east of Boonville, about 30 minutes away. The accommodations, ranging in price from $120-$295 include mountain-view rooms, creekside rooms, a suite (two queen beds) and cottages. Rooms all have hardwood floors, one queen or two twin beds and common front porch overlooking the landscaped grounds. The cottages are available with either one or two bedrooms and have kitchens, private porches and can comfortably accommodate more than two guests. The other two bedrooms are small with full beds and lots of light. The bathroom downstairs is large with a tub and glass block shower. There is a fully equipped kitchen open to the dining area and living room with a fireplace. In addition there is a den with a television and a desk as a worksite for a computer.
