The porch, as an architectural concept is a roofed, but incompletely walled living area attached to the frame of a house. It is private space, but publicy accessible, and acts as a communal gathering place. This porch is not connected to a house but the false wall of Southern Exposure gallery with windows cut into the walls to reveal the long-covered true windows and the strucutural artiface of the gallery. Built mostly of cardboard and other common and recyceld materials, this porch provides a framework for people to walk through, sit on, touch and linger in a comfortable atmosphere.
